Additional Information

Hatha yoga is a holistic yogic path, including disciplines, postures (asana), purification procedures (shatkriya), gestures (mudra), breathing (pranayama), and meditation. The hatha yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas understood as physical exercises. It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice.

Hatha yoga is one of the two branches of yoga that focuses on the physical culture, the other one being raja yoga. Both of these are commonly referred to as sadanga yoga, i.e., yoga of six parts ('sad' meaning six and 'anga' meaning limbs). Svatmarama emphasizes many times in his Hathapradipika text that there is no raja yoga without hatha yoga and no hatha yoga without raja yoga.

The main difference is that raja yoga uses asanas mainly to get the body ready for prolonged meditation, and hence focuses more on the meditative asanas: Lotus Posture (padmasana), Accomplished Posture (siddhasana), Easy Posture (sukhasana) and Pelvic Posture (vajrasana). Hatha yoga utilizes not only meditative postures but also cultural postures. Similarly, raja yoga's use of pranayama is also devoid of extensive locks (bandha).

Hatha represents opposing energies: hot and cold , positive and negative. Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures or "asanas", purification practices, controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. Asanas teach poise, balance and strength and are practiced to improve the body's physical health and clear the mind in preparation for meditation. However if an individual has too much phlegm or fat then purification procedures are a necessity before undertaking pranayama.

Hatha yoga consists of six limbs focused on attaining samadhi. In this scheme, the six limbs of hatha yoga are defined as asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi. The basic text of hatha yoga is Hathapradipika by Swatmarama, a grand disciple of Sahajananda (from the lineage of Sopana, the younger brother of Dnyaneshwar Maharaj of Alandi near Pune). An important part of hatha practices is awakening of Kundalini. The signs of success in hatha yoga are slenderness of the body, cheerful face, hearing mystical sound, bright eyes, sense of well-being, control over the bindu, increase in gastric fire and purification of the nadis.

Specialities

Yoga is derived from sanskrit word "Yuj Dhatu" which means union. First physically, then mentally and atlast with self. In this stage, one is away from physical and mental body. Yoga As Therapy: Cultivation of correct psychological attitude. Reconditioning of the psycho-physiological mechanism. Yoga helps in bringing awareness towards our physical body. The mind which always remains busy in the materialistic things, is never calm even for a single second. Yoga, thus helps in relaxing that mind and thereby becoming aware towards this mind. With the help of yoga, one comes to know about his real self.

Yoga helps in becoming physically, mentally, socially and spiritually healthy and strong. Doing Asanas helps to tone and strengthen our muscles and also removes stiffness from the body. Also, circulation process improoves in our body, as well as excess fat from our body gets removed. Apart, from this also helps to cure diseases if done in proper proportion.

Physical Healing: At our center, the base of physical healing is AshtangaYoga,Hatha Yoga,Naturopathy,Ayurvedic. Ashtanga Yoga totally contributes to physical healing but we deal basically with Asanas and Pranayama techniques for physical healing. Hatha Yoga also contributes to physiaclm healing but we take some techniques from hatha yoga for physical healing like Six cleansing processes(Kapalbhati,,Bhasti,Neti,Nauli,Dhauti and Tratka),Retention(Jalandhar,Uddiyyan and Mool bandha), Mudras and Kundalini yoga. Is based on Chakra Healing.Follows the meditation process on chakras.

This leads to cleansing and healing of body parts associated with those chakras. After cleansing of 5 chakras, one enters to Ajna Chakra.By opening this chakra, mind is under control and hence gets relaxed. It gains the energy and promotes healing. This enhances spiritual growth and increases awareness.

Mental Healing: Mental Healing at our center is based on Ashtanga,Hatha,Kundalini Yoga,Naturopathy.Ashtanga.Yoga (Yamas, Niyamas, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi) contributes to mental healing. In Hatha Yoga, Six Cleansing Processes,Asanas,Pranayama,Retention(Bandhas),Mudra are also helpful in mental healing. We have some Recreational activities at our center which helps in developing positive attitude and brings a hope in doing something in their life.

In mental healing,Kundalini yoga also plzys an inevitable role. Is based on Chakra Healing.Follows the meditation process on chakras. This leads to cleansing and healing of body parts associated with those chakras. After cleansing of 5 chakras, one enters to Ajna Chakra.By opening this chakra, mind is under control and hence fets relaxed. It gains the energy and promotes healing. This enhances spiritual growth and increases awareness.

Meditative Healing: In meditative healing,we make use of pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi from AshtangaYoga And Kundalini yoga from Hatha Yoga. Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an alpha state, which is level of consciousness that promotes healing state. Meditative Healing helps to reduce B.P and relieve pain and stress. Meditative Techniques are used in learning self-regulation for disorders such as anxiety and hypertension. Also provides us bliss and calmness. Also, gives us the realization of Self.

Energy Healing: We at our center use Ashtanga Yoga,Hatha Yoga and Naturopathy for Energy healing. In Ashtangayoga, we emphasize on asanas, pranayama & dhyana. In dhyana,we make use of some special advanced yogic techniques like Shakti Kriya,Yog Nidra,Cyclic Meditation,Vipassana Meditation,Pranic Energisation Technique. In Hatha Yoga, we clean our chakras with the use of mantras.

This technique is based on overall structure of human body.Acc. to it,our body is composed of two parts:visible physical body and invisible physical body. It is an art of healing that utilises life energy to heal diseased energy levels. This healing is based on two laws: Law Of Self-Recovery: In this, body is capable of healing itself. If person has a wound or burn, the body will heal itself. In other words,if you donot apply any antibiotic on wound or burn, body will heal itself. Law Of Life Energy:In this, healing process can be accelerated by increasing life energy on affected part and on entire body too.
