Cervical Spondylitis (Neck Pain): Cervical spondylitis n spondylosis are two different terms but are commonly used in place of each other. They produce similar symptoms and have similar causes. Cervical spondylosis/spondylitis is a disorder caused by over - use, Mis - use or less use of the structures in the neck (cervical). Due to this the ligaments, bones, cartilages, nerves, discs and muscles of the neck change their shape and strength. Bones become weak, irregular and develop spurs (osteophytes). Discs and muscles loose their flexibility and can pressurise the nerve.
Osteo Arthritis (Knee Pain): Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative and alignment disorder. Typically a patient feels swelling, pain, tenderness, reduced movement and cracking sound in the knee. Osteoarthritis does involve the entire joint. it's nearby structures such as muscles, ligaments, cartilage underlying bone and the joint capsule are adversely effected. In advance cases the bones remodels. Legs of an knee osteoarthritis patient may become like a 'bow'.
Cardiac Problems: The sequence relieves the pressure from the thoracic organs, particularly heart, resulting into reduced pressure on cardiac muscles, which further results into optimum functioning of heart and helps in strengthening the ailing cardiac muscles. The sequence improves collateral blood circulation to the ischemic (oxygen deprived) area, resulting in rejuvenation of muscles and can improve left ventricular ejection fraction (L.V.E.F)
This sequence improves oxygen intake capacity resulting into better oxygen flow to the heart. This sequence removes stress from the mind that results into reduced secretion of angiotension hormones resulting into veso-dilation (increased diameter) of blood vessels. Stress management achieved through the sequence addresses lack of sleep and helps in pain relief.
Diabetes: The blood sugar is consumed in two ways, in presence of insulin or through Yoga exercise. During Yoga exercise, sugar enters the muscle cells even in absence of insulin. Medical Yoga Therapy addresses all these problems in this sequence: Helps in increasing blood supply to pancreas, resulting into enhanced production of insulin.
Peripheral consumption of sugar is improved in arm and leg muscles, resulting in reduced blood sugar levels. Insulin receptors are activated (especially on the abdominal wall) resulting in increased utilization of insulin.Digestion is improved by improving juices secretion in the stomach and intestines.Reduces Stress levels. Besides all the given benefits, the sequence of given asanas also help in preventing Diabetic complications.
Lumbar Spondylitis - (Back Pain): Everyone, at least once in his lifetime suffers from lower back pain. The pain may be due to some disease or injury to the muscles, bones, and/or nerves of the spine. Pain in the organs within the abdomen and pelvis, may also be felt in the back like pain of the kidney stones is felt close to the L2-L4 region of the spine. Pelvic infections, ovarian disorders, Menstruation can also cause lower back pain.
Due to disc bulge/ herniation or prolapse the exiting nerve root gets pinched. This causes pain along the whole track of that nerve. Radiating pain to the leg is called Sciatica. It has 6 different types. Once the exact exact diagnosis of the type of Sciatica is done then, through medical yoga therapy sciatica can be treated anytime between one session to three months time. You can completely recover from your lower back pain and Dr Deepak Sachdeva will also give you some practical tips which you can follow at your workplace or at home to cure it completely.
Ankylosing Spondylitis: Ankylosing spondylitis is also called as bamboo spine. It's a form of chronic inflammation of joints in the spine and it's associated structures. It usually starts from the sacroiliac joints which are below the waist line and above the tailbone. Inflammation in these areas causes pain and stiffness. Over time, chronic spinal inflammation (spondylitis) leads to complete fusion of the sacrum and the iliac bone.
This process of fusion spreads upwards in the spine and the facet joints of the spine and the bodies of the vertebrae also fuse with each other over the next few years. It leads to loss of mobility of the spine. It also spreads to the other joints like hip joints, shoulder joins, knee and elbow joins. Ankylosing spondylitis is also a systemic disease. It can cause inflammation of the other organs, such as the eyes heart, lungs, and kidneys.
As patients suffer from pain and restricted motion, the asanas and therapies are done differently with use of props and belts to ease the poses and provide maximum benefit. These therapies should only be performed under an expert guidance to avoid any complications.
