Maharishi Ayurveda Products Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 1986 under Maharishi’s Global Plan. It is a comprehensive and scientific system of natural health care under the direct inspiration of his holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is the complete revival of the tradition of Ayurveda which comes to us from the ancient vedic civilization of India. The goals of Maharishi Ayurveda are to preserve health, there by creating an enlightened individual and a disease free society. It would be appropriate to say that Maharishi Ayurveda Products is a research based organisation and many of its products have undergone Research/clinical trials in India as well as abroad.

The company is presently engaged in the manufacturing of Ayurvedic formulations, food supplements and medicines in the form of tablets, syrups, oils and pastes. It is also manufacturing a range of products for personal care, cosmetics, teas, coffee substitutes, food and beverages, in accordance to the guidelines of Ayurveda. The Heads Office of Maharishi Ayurveda is at New Delhi and the manufacturing activity of MAP is presently at two units at Noida, SEZ and Faridabad and has total employee strength of over 800.

MAP realizes the need of quality management, as Ayurveda was in a prolonged period of hibernation during regimes and during this period of hibernation the health needs of the society changed greatly. Therefore it is imperative to review the concepts of Ayurveda in the light of the changes in health care needs and of modern technology so as to make it applicable to the changed socioeconomic scenario. In October 1999 the company got Quality Systems Certification of ISO 9001:1994 for Design (Formulation) Production and Exports of Herbal Products including food supplements, cosmetics, toiletries and formulations. MAPL is the only Ayurvedic Company in India to get this certification.

Additional Information

The very next year in November 2000 MAP was evaluated and approved for confirming to operational Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) for food safety management system, September’ 1998 and was awarded a certificate. MAP is the only Ayurvedic Company in India to get this certification. And thereafter, MAP has many certifications, like GMP in 2002, AYUSH Premium Mark etc. to its credit. The philosophy of Maharishi Ayurveda is based upon the fact that it needs the windows of modern science to appreciate the full dignity and potential of holistic concepts that governed Ayurveda through centuries.

The factory is equipped with the latest machinery in pharmaceutical production and employs state of art technology to ensure a high degree of quality production confirming to the highest international standards. It has its own research and development center recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Sciences and Technology, Government of India. Having its recognized in house R & D setups it has developed linkage between eminent medical institutions in India and abroad. Through employing the most modern techniques, care is taken to see that the preparation adheres strictly to the norms and procedures laid out in the ancient books of Ayurveda.

Specialities

Effects of Glucomap have been studied in the metabolic profile of T2DM (Type II Diabetes Mellitus) patients by Dr. Anoop Misra and his team at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The results of this Double Blind placebo controlled trial showed significant reduction in fasting blood glucose levels and in glycosylated hemoglobin levels, also no adverse effects were reported. Anti-diabetic and general effects of Glucomap were also studied by Dr. A.R. Sircar and his Research Team at KGMC, Lucknow and it was found that Glucomap has significant hypoglycemic properties.

An improvement was also seen in symptoms such as constipation, Fatigue, Polyurea etc, and general well-being of the patients; leading to the conclusion that; apart from having no adverse drug reactions as in case of OHAs, Glucomap also has side-benefits for diabetics. Maharishi Amrit Kalash (MAK) belongs to a group of herbal formulations called “Rasayanas”.

MAK enhances immunity and prevents free radical generation. MAK (4 & 5) has been found to prevent the formation of chemically induced (induced by DMBA) breast cancer up to 88% in rodents. MAK has also regressed tumors in 60% of cases. MAK-4 has been found to reduce metastasis in lung cancer in animals. MAK also found to have effect on reduction on chemo toxicity in animal studies. Two clinical studies have been shown to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
