The first module of our yoga teacher training encompasses the teachings that are at the heart of the yoga practice. During this first module you will gain a deeper understanding of yogic philosophy and practices while focusing on strengthening your own personal practice. This module is great for any yogi interested in taking their practice to the next level, even if the ultimate goal does not include becoming a certified teacher. Topics covered include in-depth asana, pranayama, anatomy, meditation and the subtle body. Advanced practices of yoga nidra and yoga philosophy will be included.

This module can be done individually, or can serve as the foundational prerequisite for the teaching module.Namaste’s second yoga teaching training module is designed to fulfill the 200-hour level certification. Students will learn how to develop their own personal teaching style and brand, how to conquer common problems new teachers face, and the best practices for developing a teaching career. Upon completion, you will leave with the confidence and tools needed to teach a well-sequenced, dynamic yoga class.

The term yoga comes from a Sanskrit word meaning “yoke” or “union”. Traditionally, yoga is a method of joining our bodies with our minds and our individual selves with the Divine.On a physical level, yoga postures are designed to tone, strengthen, and align the body. These postures are performed to make the spine supple and healthy and to promote blood flow to all the organs, glands, and tissues, keeping all the bodily systems healthy and functioning optimally. On a spiritual level, yoga uses breathing techniques and meditation to quiet, clarify, and discipline the mind. Yoga is not a religion, but a way of living with health and peace of mind as its goals.

The potential benefits of yoga are limitless. Yoga has shown tremendous physical benefits for people seeking fitness, as well as those seeking therapy for chronic ailments and injuries. Yoga promotes mental clarity and an overall sense of well-being that can reduce stress, anxiety, depression and mind-body disorders.


Almost every month we offer an Intro to Yoga workshop. This special 2 hour class will give you a foundation to begin a healthy and safe practice. You will learn the basic asanas (postures) and how to develop proper alignment. The workshop is also a great way to begin building the sense of community that is so strong within the yoga studio. You will meet others who are exactly where you are, and will learn from each other’s questions. As an added bonus, the workshop includes a week of unlimited yoga to give you the opportunity to test out different classes and teachers.
