The unpresidented success of Devi Clinic Sri Lanka and worldwide is dedicated to the Lotus feet of the trinity. The founders (Devi) Theivanayagi Selvathurai (Mother), Ramasamy Selvathurai (Father) and Prof. Dr. Sir Anton Jayasuriya (Guru). Devi Clinic and Faculty of Integrated Medicine founded by Prof. (Dr.) Sir Selvakumar Selvathurai was established on 15th March 1996 under the aegis of late Prof. (Dr.) Sir Anton Jayasuriya the internationally acclaimed alternative medical practitioner, author and lecturer.

The Clinic was named 'DEVI' as a tribute to the founder's mother, Who was a moving genius responsible for making her husband late Mr R Selvathurai's dream a reality. 'Service to Mankind is Service to the Lord' – a concept inculcated in Prof. Selvakumar by his mother late Ms. Theivanayagi Selvathurai, is still the motto of the clinic stressing the value of serving humanity above all. The clinic commenced its activities as a complimentary and alternative medical clinic with Acupuncture, Homoeopathy and Manipulative Medicine as therapies in 1996.

To pay tribute to the founder's Guru and Mentor late Prof. Sir Anton Jayasuriya the clinic expanded to accommodate a Faculty in its premises thus becoming the Teaching Institute in Acupuncture accredited by the Government of Sri Lanka. The establishment of the Faculty was greatly assisted by Prof.(Dr.) S. G. Svetlana (Dr.Ac, Ph.D.) , Prof. (Dr.) Roy Goonawardena (FRCS), Prof. (Dr.) V. Thanaraja (Dr.Ac, Ph.D.) and Dr. K.G. Kumudu (Dr.Ac).

The Devi Clinic and Faculty of integrated Medicine in Sri Lanka now offers courses in Acupuncture and Alternative Medicine for students both in Sri Lanka and overseas. It has produced hundreds of Acupuncturists of international fame with affiliated clinics and associations around the world. The teaching academy, as a result of its proven credentials has also been affiliated to the prestigious Global Foundation for Integrative Medicine - U.S.A.
