Currently, approximately 73 million adults in the United States and approximately 1 billion adults worldwide have hypertension, and the prevalence is increasing.1 Many clinical trials have examined the effects of antihypertensive drugs. Studies comparing the effects of antihypertensive medications.
Obesity: Obesity is an excessive storage of fat, beyond the 10 to 15 percent of body weight that is considered normal. The material stored in adipose tissue is triglyceride, an energy-rich fat containing nine calories per gram as compared with four calories per gram of protein or carbohydrate. Cervical & Lumber Spondylitis: We report an unusual case of brucellar spondylitis, involving both the cervical and lumbar spine. Diagnosis was established using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An initial plain radiograph of the lumbar spine, showing mild degenerative lesions, was misleading. Therefore, institution of a proper treatment was delayed.
Slip Disc: The spine is made up of the vertebrae (the bones making up the spine), which have cartilage discs between them. The discs consist of a circle of connective tissue with a central gel-like core. This makes the spine flexible and at the same time acts as a protective buffer. Paralysis: Paralysis can be seen in breeds of dogs that are chondrodysplastic. These dogs have short legs, and may also have short muzzles. Their intervertebral disc material can calcify and become more brittle. In such cases, the disc may rupture, with disc material ending up in the spinal canal, or rupturing more laterally to press on spinal nerves
Rheumatism: The chief cause of rheumatism is the presence of toxic waste products in the blood. The liberal consumption of meat, white bread, sugar, and refined cereals leaves a large residue of toxic wastes in the system. When the vitality is low, the toxic wastes are concentrated around the joints and bony structure, where they form the basis of rheumatism.
