Padmanath Ayurved Aushadhalaya is a premier unit of manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines in Upper Assam.The Unit is situated in Rajamaidam.Jorhat came into existence on the auspicious day of ‘Vijaya Dasami’ of 1947.Its founder late Kaviraj Girish Chandra Bhattacharya.Ayurved Visharada , was a permanent member of founder member of Assam Ayurvedic College .Kaviraj late Bhattacharya established the manufacturing unit in his own residence to produce the medicine developed by his own research.During his life time Kaviraj Late Bhattacharya developed in total eleven such patented medicines which have been recognized as very effective.

Although Kaviraj Bhattacharya provided his profession service from his chamber situated opposite to Bisturam Barua Hall,Jorhat but his professional reputation spread and his medicines have been acclaimed all over Assam.In his profession as well as ayurvedic medicine production activities his main helper was his disciple second son Mr.Ramani Kumar Bhattacharya on 1996 . Kaviraj Bhattacharya expired but the demand of the product of Padmanath Ayurved Aushadhalaya got invitation of participate in the International Business Expo Held at New Delhi.

Under the leadership of Mr.Ramani Kumar Bhattacharya this is a success story . The Ayurvedic medicinal product of Assam has been taken to the people outside Assam.Since then Padmanath Ayurved Aushadhalya has become a common name in every International Business Expo New Delhi. Presently Padmanath Ayurved Aushadhalya is managed by Mr Ramani Kumar Bhattacharya ,the eligible son of Kaviraj Girish Chandra Bhattacharya and who was trained by his father.He is also a Commerce Graduate.

The Constraints: Demand of the product of Padmanath Ayurved Aushadhalya is increasing day by day.The practicing physicians are also prescribing those medicines.To cater the need for the produrect at different places,the unit has given consent for selling point at Barubari,Guwahati Oil town Duliajan Sivasagar Town Dibrugarh Mariani Teok Dhekiakhowa,Jorhat Dergaon and Golaghat. The most encouraging fact is that one established Real Estate Businessman of New Delhi.However. main constraint suffered by the unit is insufficient infrastructural facilities for commercial production.

Preparation to cope up the requirements: The unit is urgently in need of expansion of the production capacity and infrastructural facilities.Dr. Amrit Chandra Kumar and Sri Niranjan Barthakur have been appointed as MFG and Testing Chemist respectively so that medicines are produced according to the quality specification of Ayurvedic Council of India.Two enthusiastie youths – Mr. Pankaj Hatikakoti and Mr. Lakhi Gogoi have joined the unit to look after the marketing and distribution system of its product.

So long the production is being cerried on orthodpx way and mainly manually.The available old assam type building which was meant for residence is being used in unplanned way for storage of finished product,raw material and also for fermentation process.laboratory testing etc. The equipments used are not viable for commercial and bulk production.As a result of which the unit requires major investment in building to bring the entire production process under a single roof. equipmentas and machineries. carrying vehicle and water purification system.Invesment is also required for working capital.For the purposr neccssary drawing,estimation and permission for construction of the building has been obtained.Equipment and machineries have been selected ands quotations have been collected.
