Additional Information

Ayurveda: The most ancient science in healthcare “Ayurveda” & the oldest holistic system of medicine in the world that not only deals with the diseased persons but also take care of healthy person. It is the art of healthy living that has been helping human beings to create esteem in daily life by self-knowledge and self care. The word Ayurveda is derived from the ancient Indian language Sanskrit where ‘ayus’ means life and ‘veda’ means knowledge or science. So, the literal meaning of the word Ayurveda is knowledge or science of life.

This traditional system of healing is based on the theory of balancing the body, the soul and the mind. This balancing includes eating the right thing at the right time, adapting to daily lifestyle habits, daily mediation and maintaining purity of mind and soul. There is a strong connection between the mind and the body. It not only controls the process of thoughts but also helps the body in day-to-day activities such as respiration, blood circulation, digestion and elimination. Our physiology is regulated by the combined work of mind and body. The senses are used as information gatherers so that the mind can act accordingly to the body. The clarity of senses helps the mind and body to integrate their functions so that the human beings can live a healthy and happier life. Before existing in the physical body we exist in a more fine and delicate form known as the soul.

TRIDOSHAS: According to the concept of Ayurveda, the human body is made up of five elements (panchamahabhootas), seven tissues (dhatus), waster products (malas), channels (srotas) and energy modes (doshas). Every living and non-living thing in the universe is a combination of five basic elements. The seven dhatus or tissues are responsible for composing the human body. Malas are the body wastes and proper elimination of the waste products is an important factor in maintaining good health. Srotas are the channels that transport the nutrients and other substances to all parts of the body. The three doshas (tridoshas) are responsible for the creation of various tissues of the body and to eliminate the waste products from the body. All the bodily movements and other physiological functions are influenced by the tridoshas.

Specialities

Panchakarma: Ayurveda emphasizes preventative and healing therapies along with various methods of purification and rejuvenation. Ayurveda is more than a mere healing system; it is a science and an art of appropriate living, which helps to achieve longevity. Panchakarma is Ayurveda's primary purification and detoxification treatment. Panchakarma means the "five therapies".

It is a comprehensive system of knowledge and practices to purify the body of toxins and restore it to balance with natural law. These five therapeutic means of eliminating toxins from the body are Vamana, Virechana, Nasya, Basti and Raktamoskshana. This series of five therapies help remove deep-rooted stress and illness causing toxins from the body while balancing the doshas (energies that govern all biological functions).

Panchakarma is ineffective if special detoxification diet is not given along with the treatments. Panchakarma plays a vital role in Ayurvedic medicine, both in health as well as in disease. Although panchakarma is often thought of as the entire procedure, it really is only one part of a group of therapies belonging to a class of cleansing procedures called shodan. There is also a group of milder techniques called shaman for those not strong enough for shodan.

In today's world when more and more people are falling prey to the adverse effects of stress and anxiety, which is leading to diseases like improper digestion, lack of sleep, allergies, chronic fatigue, cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis etc. The importance of pancha karma in ayurveda is borne out by the fact that it is applicable to all cases covering a wide range of preventive, curative, and promotive conditions. These diseases are caused mainly due to deeply seated toxins.

With the process of Panchakarma it eliminates these toxins from the body, allowing healing permanently of tissues, channels, digestion and mental functions. In Ayurveda, the treatment is broadly divided into two categories: Shodhana and Shamana. Curing the disease by cleaning out the impurities is called Shodhana chikitsa, which is the principle of Panchakarma. It involves the clearing of vitiated doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) which cause the disease and thereby the restoration of equilibrium of doshas.

Kidney Disease:The kidneys, a pair of bean-shaped organs, are located at the bottom of the ribcage in the right and left sides of the back. Although the body is equipped with two kidneys, you can function with one reasonably healthy kidney if the other is damaged or removed. The kidneys receive blood from the aorta, filter it, and send it back to the heart with the right balance of chemicals and fluid for use throughout the body. The urine created by the kidneys is moved out of the body via the urinary tract.

ALE INFERTILITY: AYURVEDIC TREATMENT FOR MALE INFERTILITY: Male infertility is a condition in which a male has inability to achieve pregnancy in a fertile female. Male infertility is commonly due to absence of the factors in semen that are necessary for the fertility. The diagnosis is made by the semen analysis. The sample of semen is evaluated by the pathologist. It clears the quality ,quantity ,motility , shape and movement of the sperm.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world. According to Ayurveda arthritis is primarily a vata (air) disease, which is due to accumulation of toxins in the joints and is known as amavata. Poor digestion and a weakened colon, resulting in the accumulation of undigested food and the buildup of waste matter, can cause this. Poor digestion allows toxins to accumulate in the body, and problems with the colon allow the toxins to reach the joints.

Types of Arthritis: Osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage that covers the ends of bones in the joint deteriorates, causing pain and loss of movement as bone begins to rub against bone. It is the most prevalent form of arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis, is a chronic disease characterized by inflamed joints leading to swelling, pain, stiffness, and the possible loss of function. It occurs when the body's immune system attacks tissues (groups of cells) that make up joints. This destroys the joint's protective cartilage (the firm, rubbery tissue that cushions bones at the joints). The cartilage in those with rheumatoid arthritis breaks down and wears away. As a result, the bones rub together, causing the pain, swelling, and stiffness associated with this condition.

Gout, which affects mostly men. It is usually the result of a defect in body chemistry. This painful condition most often attacks small joints, especially the big toe. Fortunately, gout almost always can be completely controlled with medication and changes in diet.

Ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that affects the spine. As a result of inflammation, the bones of the spine grow together. Juvenile arthritis, a general term for all types of arthritis that occur in children. Children may develop juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or childhood forms of lupus, ankylosing spondylitis or other types of arthritis.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), a serious disorder that can inflame and damage joints and other connective tissues throughout the body. Scleroderma, a disease of the body’s connective tissue that causes a thickening and hardening of the skin.
