Few of the common/uncommon diseases are listed below. We, at AyuPlus Hospital, are specialized in treating these ailments and have shown successful results in past. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine based on natural and holistic living, derives from two Sanskrit words - Ayu or life, and Veda or knowledge. This Science of Life analyses the human body through a combination of the body, mind and spirit. Ayurveda emphasizes prevention of disease, rejuvenation of our body systems, and extension of life span. The profound premise and promise of Ayurveda is that through certain practices, not only can we prevent diseases , but we can also live a long healthy life in balance and harmony, achieve our fullest potential, and express our true inner nature on a daily basis.

Ayurveda uses a multitude of healing modalities including herbs, diet, colors, aromas, sound, lifestyle recommendations, Pancha Karma, meditation, and yoga. More and more people are discovering that these ancient principles are easily applicable to modern life and that they have the power to create health and contentment. Ayurveda and yoga are sister Vedic sciences that have been united for thousands of years for the sake of healing body, mind, and consciousness. Generally speaking, Ayurveda deals more with the health of the body, while yoga deals with purifying the mind and consciousness, but in reality they complement and embrace each other.

Both have inseparable relationships. Yoga clubbed together with Ayurveda will produce positive effects on health. At the outset, we must understand what we can gain out of this wonderful practice. At the physical level, yoga and its cleansing practices have proven to be extremely effective for various disorders. Whether you practice yoga to relax, stretch, breathe, meditate, or simply because it's in fashion, you may not realize the numerous health benefits of Yoga. Before the actual operation of purification begins, body is prepared in prescribed methods to encourage the release of toxins. The two procedures are Snehana and Swedana. Abhyangam(Snehana) which means massage, is a very famous treatment in Ayurveda. This treatment uses a special medicated oil for massage. It is carried out before all major treatments in Panchakarma like Vamana, Virechana, Basti , Nasya , etc. This treatment helps the patients to keep their bodies healthy and balanced. Accumulated stress and toxins in the mind and body gets dissolved during this massage. A full-body warm oil massage therefore acts as a powerful recharger and rejuvenator of mind and body.

Abhayanga also helps in increasing circulation, toning up of muscles, calming of nerves, lubrication of joints and increased mental alertness. It gives good strength to the body, enhances age, luster of skin, improves eye-sight, induces good sleep and relieves vatha aggravation. Shirodhara, Shirobasti, Akashi Tarpana, Karna purana, etc are the different snehana/abhyangam procedures. It is beneficial in rigidity, pain, paralysis, head-ache, nervous system diseases, joint diseases, sleeplessness, mental disorders, etc

Vaman is one therapy among 'Panchakarma'- the five fold Ayurvedic detoxification procedures. This process will induce therapeutic vomiting. Prior to this procedure the individual's body will be prepared by proper Snehana (oleation) and Swedana (sudation). This is a very beneficial therapy for Kapha predominating disorders such as asthma, cough, psoriasis and skin disorders. It is beneficial for bronchial asthma, cough and cold, chronic indigestion, lymphatic congestion and edema.

Virechana is a process by which vitiated pitha dosha is eliminated from the body through anus, assisted by Snehana-Svedhana karmas. It is effective in the treatment of skin diseases (eczema, allergy' psoriasis), constipation, hemiplegia, ascitis and skin allergies. This therapy is one among Panchakarma which eliminates excess Pitta from the body. Virechan is performed by administering Virechak Aushdhi (purgative medicine) in milk or warm water preparation after proper preparation of the individual through Poorvakarmas. This therapy is extremely beneficial in Pitta disorders such as dermatitis, chronic fever, heartburn, jaundice, etc.

Nasya therapy is a process wherein the drug (herbalized oils and liquid medicines) is instilled into nostrils. Since nose is the gateway of the head, the therapy is highly effective in curing a number of diseases pertaining to the head, if it is performed systematically. The therapy cleanses and opens the channels of the head, thereby improving the process of oxygenation (prana), which has a direct influence on the functioning of brain. Highly effective for headaches, sinusitis, migraine and rhinitis. Effective in recurrent cold, allergic , facial paralysis, ENT disorders, cervical spondylosis, and epilepsy and stammering. It also prevents the early graying of hair and bear.

Ayurvedic Basti(Enema) is considered as the key activity of all Panchakarma treatments since it cleanses the accumulated toxis through the colon.
It is highly beneficial in cleansing and detoxifying the body. Medicated oil or ghee and a herbal combination is used as enema to clean the colon. It helps in increasing the muscle tone too. People suffering from constipation would find the treatment beneficial, because it promotes the liquefaction of ama and mala (waste products) in the colon.

It relieves constipation, distention, chronic fever, cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, backache, sciatica and other pains in the joints. Many other vata disorders such as arthritis, rheumatism, gout, muscle spasms and headaches may also be treated with basti. Pouring of medicated oil, milk or medicated buttermilk on the forehead continuously for a specific period is called Shirodhara. When the Shirodhara is done with medicated oil, it is called Thaila Dhara. When done with milk it is called Ksheera Dhara and when done with medicated buttermilk it is called Takra Dhara

Pinda swedana is a process by which the whole body/sepcific part is made to perspire. This is done by external application of medicinal boluses, which are ties in a cloth bog. It is a massage used heal Vata diseases, especially neuromuscular disorders, improve blood circulation and remove wastes. According to Ayurveda, the treatment helps to awaken the memory of the cells. It is always performed with bhyanga and swedana. This is a procedure in which a belt is fastened around the head covering the portion of the forehead so a well like formation takes place over the head. This well is then filled with oil and kept for some time. This is also beneficial in diseases of the head especially in difficulties arising due to injuries to the head.
