Dr. Vijith Sasidhar is the founder of Sreekrishna Ayurveda Chikitsa Kendram, in Kerala, India. He is an exceptional Ayurvedic physician and teacher. Since 2005 he has been running the clinic together with his wife, Dr. Vidya Vijith. It is their mission to establish an authentic practice of Ayurveda of the highest quality. In addition to this, they want to make it available to patients from all over the world. The Sreekrishna team includes several Ayurvedic doctors and therapists who assist in the treatments. They are all thoroughly and traditionally trained by Dr.Vijith and Dr. Vidya. They are wholeheartedly dedicated to the mission, inspired by the motto - “ Heal yourself by knowing your Self ” One of the outstanding and unique aspects of Sreekrishna is the fact that all Ayurvedic medication is prepared exclusively for their patients on their own property. This enables them to provide the highest quality of medication as well as treatments.

Sreekrishna specializes in Shodhana treatments: well known for its deeply cleansing and revitalizing techniques. This is a specialized branch within Ayurveda, and is often referred to as Pancha Karma. Sreekrishna clinic is situated in a beautiful area of Kerala, near the town of Vaikom, in the middle of a lush forestation of palm trees and other tropical flora. It is located in the near proximity of the famous Kumarakom Lake, which is well known for its back waters. Another facility of Dr. Vijith and Dr. Vidya has been built close to this lake. At Kumarakom Heritage they offer the possibility of Shamana treatments, which are lighter in nature than Shodhana treatments.

Additional Information

For many years Dr. Vijith has been offering advanced study and training facilities at Sreekrishna. Programs vary from one-to-one Gurukula style teaching and coaching, to internship programs with groups of advanced Ayurveda students, both from India and abroad. Dr. Vidya often assists Dr. Vijith in these more extensive programs. Themes can vary, but both theory and practice will be always combined to deepen clinical understanding. In all programs the classical Sanskrit Ayurveda texts play an essential role in getting to the heart of Ayurvedic principles. Sreekrishna offers study programs in cooperation with other international Ayurveda schools.

Specialities

Most of the medicines that are used for patients at Sreekrishna are prepared on location. They are all based on the ancient Ayurvedic texts and formulas. The herbs that are used are grown in the beautiful gardens of the clinic. This has tremendous advantages. The medicines and remedies are always fresh and authentic and can be customized to each patient’s individual needs and requirements. In addition to this, valuable experience is gained when it comes to the actual effect of ancient prescriptions. Students and internees are provided with a unique opportunity to learn about Ayurvedic pharmacology and medicine preparation. The process is completed by preparing the medicines with appropriate rituals, love and dedication. This enhances the healing effects of the final products: remedies for body, mind and soul.
