Chiropractic is a healthcare profession which diagnoses, treats and helps prevent conditions relating to the nerves, muscles and joints, using a variety of techniques including specific manipulation as well as patient education. The term Chiropractic comes from the Greek words for ‘hand’ and ‘practice’.
Chiropractors in the UK are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, a statutory body established to protect patients and set standards for the profession.
Chiropractic can treat a variety of conditions including low-back and neck pain, sciatica, neuralgia, headaches, sports injuries, arthritic pain, repetitive strain injuries, and a wide range of problems affecting the extremities (shoulder, knee, elbow, hip, foot, ankle and wrist).
Chiropractic treatment can also help promote general health and wellbeing.
