Sunday-Friday, Vance Selover
The traditional method taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, South India. Students progress through a specific sequence of asanas (postures), learning one pose at a time, as their own strength, flexibility, continuity of breath, and dedication to practice allows it. Students of all levels practice together in silence and receive individual attention and hands-on adjustments. Thus, benefiting from both the solitude of their own practice and the supportive energy of a group.
Through consistent practice, one attains improved circulation, strength, grace, and clarity of mind. This purification of the body opens the gates to effortless meditation and a deeper, more mature understanding of yoga. As originally codified in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Ashtanga Yoga is an eight-limbed path, leading to the realization of truth, knowledge, happiness and peace.
The practice room is open between 6:30am - 9:30am during the week, however instruction will be only from 6:30am - 8:30am.
