Our Profile
For over 20 years Marie H. Beach has been a writer, lecturer, teacher and student on how the power of the mind can make and keep you well. She believes the genius of Thomas Edison went far beyond his inventions when he prophesied that “the doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest patients in the care of the human frame in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
As a speaker she has shared enthusiastically her views and experiences on the importance of mind, body, and spirit in wellness programs to major corporations, churches, civic and social clubs, local and national bookstores, government employees, and health clubs.
As a long time resident of Richmond she’s been a community activist on the boards of various organizations, churches, and schools —including stints as past Vice President of the Executive Board of Metro Richmond Visitor’s Convention & Visitors Bureau and as past chairman of the Chesterfield County Community Services Board, a board mandated by the General Assembly to provide mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services.
Beach has also authored several books, has written for East Coast newspapers, including The New York Times, and was an instructor at the former Women’s Resource Center at the University of Richmond.
